A toxoplasmosis test is a blood test that looks for antibodies to the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. Only if you have been infected by this small parasite can your body's natural defense mechanism (immune system) produce these antibodies. Toxoplasma IgG positivity indicates present or previous infection with Toxoplasma gondii.
